2010 TWIST Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Wallingford Invitational Soccer Tournament (TWIST) scholarship awards dinner held on Tuesday May 4, 2010, honored seven recipients this year. A total of $6,000 was awarded. Each recipient has excelled academically at Sheehan, Lyman Hall, or Xavier and plans to pursue post graduate education. They have also volunteered countless hours in the community and to the Wallingford Youth Soccer League. Their service to the league over the years has helped create a great soccer experience for thousands of children ranging in age from 4 to 18 years of age. With this years awards TWIST has awarded well over $120,000 to deserving children from our community.  In addition to the scholarship dinner which was held in May,  the TWIST Committee held it's first annual TWIST scholarship dinner dance fundraiser.  The dinner dance was a huge success with all the proceeds going to the scholarship fund.  The next dinner dance is scheduled for March 12, 2011 at the Zandri's Stillwood Inn.
